NENA's mission is to foster the technological advancement, availability, and implementation of a universal emergency telephone number system. In carrying out its mission, NENA promotes research, planning, training and education. The protection of human life, the preservation of property and the maintenance of general community security are among NENA's objectives.
NOTICEIowa PSAP MeetingJune 24th 2009 10:00 am at the Foxboro Conference Center, 6163 NW 86th Street (Foxboro Square)The State of Iowa 911 Program has received the Final Rules that implements the E911 grant program authorized under the ENHANCE 911 Act of 2004. The Act authorizes grants for the implementation and operation for migration to an IP-enabled emergency network. A requirement of the grant application is that we must meet with Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs), local governments, tribal organizations, and telecommunication services to inform these entities as to our plan for the use of these grant funds should our application be approved. We have scheduled a meeting on June 24, 2009 at the to begin at 10:00 a.m. The conference center is the one story building at the north end, follow the red and white signs and park on the NW side of the building (faces NW 86th St). I apologize for the short notice, but we have less than 60 days to write the state plan and submit the application. I have attached the Rules and Regulations of the grant.
