IOWA WIRELESS E9-1-1 Network PROJECT
The Iowa Wireless E9-1-1 Network Project will integrate wireless 9-1-1 calls into the existing 9-1-1 network by deploying two U S WEST products, CellTraceâ„¢ and CellTrace Plusâ„¢.
CellTraceâ„¢ uses a CellLinkâ„¢ device that acts as a protocol converter. The Voice and ESRD (routing ANI also known as pANI) are sent to the Selective Router via ES trunking. The Mobile Identification Number (MIN) and the ESRD are sent to the U S WEST ALI Host for delivery of the ALI record to the PSAP.
CellTrace Plusâ„¢ uses a Service Control Point (SCP) to pinpoint appropriate routing of wireless 9-1-1 calls. The Mobile Switching Center (MSC) sends the cell site and sector along with the MIN to the SCP. The SCP assigns an ESRK to the call and returns it to the MSC. The MSC then sends the Voice and ESRK to the Selective Router via ES trunking. As the call is being routed to the appropriate PSAP, the SCP delivers the caller's cellular number, the cell site, and sector number to the ALI Host. The PSAP requests an ALI lookup and the ALI is delivered to the PSAP.
